JEFFERSON COUNTY – “Jefferson County, a Home for Everyone… . Meeting the Basic Needs of our Community” is the theme for the 2012 Good News Celebration Breakfast at 6:59 a.m. Tues., April 17, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 15200 West 6th Ave. in Golden.

The Good News Steering Committee is inviting nominations from the community on behalf of groups or individuals to be honored at the 2012 breakfast.  Twelve honorees will be recognized for their positive impact in the community by providing housing and related basic needs for those in need in Jefferson County.

Anyone in Jefferson County can nominate a person or a group. The nominating committee considers one or more of the following criteria in making a decision:

  • Direct involvement in providing housing and related basic-need services;
  • Unselfishly demonstrates caring and concern for others in the community; and/or
  • Inspires others to join in the effort.

If an individual is nominated because of his/her job responsibilities, the nominator should explain how the individual goes above and beyond job requirements.

Nomination forms are available from www.goodnewsjeffco.org or from Leslie Levine, (303)-279-2790.

Completed nomination forms must be received no later than Friday, March 2, 2012. They should be sent to Good News Celebration, c/o Alea Richmond, Jefferson Center for Mental Health, 4851 Independence Street, Suite 200, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, or email alear@jcmh.org.

The sole purpose of the Good News Breakfast is to promote a sense of community, enhance and reaffirm spiritual values and recognize the good things happening in Jefferson County. Volunteers from business, human services, faith community, education and government organize the annual event, which traditionally draws more than 500 people.

Sponsorships are also available to promote your business or organization. Contact Sidnie O’Connell, 303-995-2388.
