Lakewood Foothills Rotary to host mayor’s State of City address
LAKEWOOD – In his 2010 State of the City address, Mayor Bob Murphy will focus on how a strong community can survive, even in the worst of times, and move on to prosper. “Lakewood has laid the foundation for making the city an enduring community, set to flourish in the new decade,” Murphy said.
The mayor will deliver his annual address, sponsored by the Lakewood Foothills Rotary Club March 10. The annual State of the City address provides an understanding of where the city has been, and establishes the vision for the coming year.
During Murphy’s presentation business owners, community leaders, and residents will hear about the creation of new city programs for small business, the preparation for coming developments, the groundwork for job creation and the commitment to the new energy economy.
The event will be at the Sheraton Denver West Hotel, 360 Union Boulevard. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. The lunch and Murphy’s address will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. and will include comments by Rotary District Governor Michael Oldham and a musical presentation by Lakewood High School’s pop singers Eclipse.
