St. Anthony Central earns Triple Achievement Award
DENVER - St. Anthony Central Hospital is the only Colorado hospital to earn the 2009 Triple Achievement Award, and is one of only 40 hospitals recognized with the award in the nation, the hospital announced Monday.
The award recognizes hospitals that have achieved at least 85 percent compliance as rated by performance measures in three categories – stroke care, coronary artery disease care and heart failure care.
It is part of the “Get With the Guidelines” program, created by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association.
St. Anthony Central received a Gold (24 months or more of compliance) for stroke and coronary artery disease care, and a Silver (12 months or more) for heart failure care.
The list of 2009 award winners was released in an ad in the July 2009 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals issue.
The announcement marks St. Anthony Central’s second consecutive Triple Achievement Award, which recognizes the ‘dedication of the physicians and associates who work to provide the very best in cardiac and stroke care under the guidance of our multidisciplinary teams,” hospital spokeswoman Bev Lilly said in Monday’s announcement.
St. Anthony Central Hospital is Colorado’s largest nonprofit Level I trauma center and is the home base of Flight For Life Colorado, the nation’s first hospital-based emergency medical helicopter program.
St. Anthony Central Hospital, which last month topped off its medical campus construction project at the Federal center in Lakewood, is a nationally recognized full-service health care organization with renowned programs in trauma, cardiovascular services, neurosciences and orthopedics.
