St. Anthony announces new partnership
NEW LAKEWOOD ST. A’s LINKS UP WITH PANORAMA: St. Anthony Central Hospital and Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center have announced a partnership to provide a full spectrum of orthopedic services in the 48-bed OrthoColorado Hospital, the orthopedic specialty hospital within the new St. Anthony Medical Campus near the intersection of Union and 2nd Place in Lakewood.
“We’re very excited to bring this state-of-the-art care to Lakewood and the Denver metropolitan area through this partnership, the first of its kind in Colorado,” said Peter Makowski, President & CEO of St. Anthony Central.
The St. Anthony Central-Panorama partnership will be the first dedicated orthopedics facility within a larger, world-class medical campus in the state.
The 116,000-square-foot specialty orthopedic hospital is on schedule to open in autumn, 2010 along with one of the campus’ medical office buildings. The 555,000 square-feet, 222-bed replacement hospital for St. Anthony Central Hospital is scheduled to open a ye
ar later along with the campus’ second medical office building.
“We believe a true partnership between our fellowship-trained physicians aided by highly skilled staff will create an overall experience far above and beyond what is currently available to orthopedic patients today,” said Thomas Friermood, MD, Medical Director of Panorama.
St. Anthony Central Hospital is Colorado’s largest nonprofit Level I trauma center and home of Flight For Life Colorado, the nation’s first hospital-based emergency medical helicopter program.
